33. South Carolina
Okay, so of all the states I have been to, one of the most arguable that I actually have been to is South Carolina. Like I’ve definitely been to the state, but the circumstances make it really hard to rank it on this list.
I went there on my way to the Charlotte Airport when I was 11 years old. The fastest route went through only North Carolina, but it is a short detour. Why was I going to the Charlotte airport? To go to Brazil of course! Yes, we drove all the way from St. Louis to Charlotte just to have a cheaper flight to Brazil. But I digress as this is not the time to talk about Brazil or North Carolina.
During the hour drive through South Carolina it was raining unbelievably hard the whole time. So hard in fact I could barely see out the window. What does South Carolina look like? I don’t really know all that well.
US Senator, Lindsey Graham
So unfortunately this may just be a copout placement of where I assume it would be after my next visit. I apologize if this ruins the sanctity of my list. I hear the beaches on the coast are nice, and I don’t hear many people talk about the center of the state. And the only famous person I can think of from South Carolina off the top of my head is Lindsey Graham. And the infamous Senator Strom Thurmond. He ran as a segregationist in the 1948 election and was in the Senate in 2003! He was a hundred years old when he left office!
So in conclusion, I apologize to any South Carolinians reading this. I will make sure to do my due diligence and return to the state to form some real opinions and not let you all down.
