Epilogue
Okay, NOW that is a wrap!
I just really wanted to thank everyone who tuned into my first blog! This has been such a great experience, so much more than I could have ever imagined.
It really is hard to believe that I completed my ranking. Somehow over the span of 54 days, I never missed a day. It is the type of thing that makes me realize what I’m capable of. I always knew it was my intention to complete the blog in full, but I think a part of me thought I might give up at some point. But I didn’t.
Not only is it difficult to keep up with posting every day, but I wrote a heck of a lot. In case anyone is wondering, I wrote about 30,000 words and 50 pages on my document. That translates to about a 100 page book, which is pretty nuts. When you spread things out by the day like I did, it gets a lot easier. I’m not saying it was easy, but I think it was easier than I thought, mainly because I had so much fun.
I think my favorite part about making my list was hearing people’s perspectives on any given day about which state I was ranking. “How could you put Arizona so low?”, “Kentucky was a lot higher than I expected!”, “Colorado was placed perfectly!”. It doesn’t matter which state I ranked, everyone would have a perspective on it. Especially when I was really early in my ranking, I got a lot of people telling me about hidden gems of the states I didn’t like all that much. It just goes to show that every state is special to someone and there is still so much I want to see.
I think if I was doing this again, maybe I’d start off a little less critical of states. Because in truth, there is beauty to every state. My new goal is that I want to be shown around every state by someone who that’s their favorite state. I want to see the beauty that these people see. Show me why Delaware is the best! Will my ranking change? Probably. But I feel like if I want to be the most accurate and fair in my rankings going forward, I should try to do this someday.
So where do I go from here? I have no intention of ending my blog. In fact, I want to make it bigger and better. Who knows, maybe I’ll even try my hand at doing it full time for a month or two to see what I’m really capable of. I do think I need a little bit of a break though. Having to write on average 600 words a day and post it is hard work, especially when I’m working a mostly full-time job. So I’ll take about a month off so I can enjoy Polebridge’s busy season and relax peacefully while I’m at home.
I will be back on August 1st though! I’m going to try something a little different. My format will be very similar to the ranking I did over the past 2 months but this time I will be going through my experience 4 years ago of watching every Adam Sandler movie. I think doing that watch through was one of the most fun times I’ve had, and I’d love the opportunity to share some of those memories with everyone. So I’ll be going through all Adam Sandler movies in order with one post for each movie going over my thoughts 4 years later and if it has stuck with me in any way. Believe me, I have a lot more to say than you might expect.
So I really hope you tune in! Even if this doesn’t interest you quite as much as the 50 states, I think it will be a really fun time. Now I want to hear from you! Please leave some comments down below of this post or in the suggestions tab about what your favorite part of the ranking was. I would also like to hear if you have any suggestions for future blogs or improvements for me to make. I’m still new at this so I have a lot to learn!
I love you all, and thank you for reading my ranking of the 50 states! Peace out!
