Click might be the greatest movie ever made. Or maybe the worst movie ever made. I can't decide so I suppose it's somewhere in the middle.
Click is… oh boy. Where do I start with this one? I guess I should start with Sandler.

Click, sorry, academy award nominated Click, is significant because it is the first Sandler-made movie that focuses on him being a family man. Yes he was a dad in Spanglish, but Sandler didn't make that movie and also I'm not going to talk about Spanglish anymore. Sandler goes through a lot of eras of characters in his movies. He starts out as the 20-something goofball, then transitions to the 30-something loser or womanizer that we see in every movie since 2000. But now we've unlocked a whole new role for him: family-man who kinda hates his family, but also loves his family. We'll be going back and forth between this role and the prior for a while so be prepared because this is almost all of what he does now.
Click is such an Adam Sandler movie. It is awful. But also the plot is so good that it angers me how much BS terrible humor you have to sit through. They really made some kind of modern It's a Wonderful Life with a magic tv remote. Like… what?
Click does some things so well. Can I just say, bless you Christopher Walken! Him playing this guardian angel role being the one who gives him the remote is perfect casting. And probably the best product placement of all time too. Like the whole "What if you go to the "Beyond" section of Bed, Bath, and Beyond", it's so hilarious.
Click also just decides to be terrible for most of the movie. Like the amount of "I hate my wife and family" jokes get so old so fast. And that's like half the movie. I still don't know if it makes the later half of the movie worth it because the point of the movie is not to take your family for granted. It's kinda like they merged one of the worst and best Sandler movies together into some sort of Frankenstein being.
Click is a movie I need to rewatch. I think I may have been too out of it while I watched it to really form a proper opinion, but I like that it's a movie of extremes. No matter what, when I watch it again, I will feel something very strongly.
