This one just ain't it for me, chief.
This is a movie I can't tell if it actually isn't all that good or if it is only so uncomfortable that I don't like it. I don't think it is a terrible movie by any means, but it just feels off in some way. Maybe I've been corrupted by all these other Sandler movies that I don't really know what to feel when I see a serious one
Is Adam Sandler good in this? I think so, it’s hard to say. I think he is being the exact character the director wants him to be, but it is just so over the top miserable that I just don't want to watch it. And like, I get that he should be miserable. He lost his whole family. But I don't think I want to watch someone be miserable for over 2 hours straight. And in all this grief he becomes an asshole which, while possibly more realistic, just makes the movie feel a little emptier.
Banger Movie
I don't really have much else to say about this movie. This was the only one I didn't watch when everyone else did since I had to wait until I got back from Alaska. It's possible that affected my enjoyment, but I watched it with Frances, and while we were bored out our mind watching this, we were hooting and hollering when we watched Bride Wars right after this. Maybe that just means I wasn’t in the right mindset to watch this. Bride Wars > Reign Over Me.
So, in conclusion, this movie makes me feel… bad.
