The Week Of

Release year: 2018
My Rating: ★★½ out of 5

Tagline: 7 days. 2 families. No backing out.

Synopsis: The parents of a soon-to-be married couple make the final preparations for the wedding ceremony.

This might be quite possibly the most mid movie ever. Nothing is outright terrible, but there's hardly anything to point to that I actually like.

So how do I even write a review for this one. Especially if it is so standard that I can barely remember a thing from it. Only that Steve Buscemi always had comically large food items whenever he was on screen. That was kinda quirky.

Come on Adam Sandler. Please, do something interesting! I'm tired of all these movies that feel like they were made in a lab. At this point it seems like every movie is just for the paycheck and that's it. It honestly makes me sad because over the course of this, I've grown to really like Sandler and respect him. And honestly, for a decades long career, he's earned the ability to not care quite as much about what he makes. But we are now 8 years removed from Grown Ups. At least it seemed like he had fun in that. But it doesn't look like he's had much fun with any of these movies since.

Well, after The Week Of Sandler is out of his required Netflix contract which had 4 movies in 3 years. That's a lot. So maybe soon things actually will change. We're getting close to the end of 2022 and the movies out as of then, so let's hope for better experiences and go out with a bang.
